Sorry if this is in the wrong section, dont know where to place this at.

My friend today called me from San Francisco, Ca asking me how much is his ticket. He got a ticket from going to the opposite direction.

I didn't really ask what really happened since i was busy. I'll post up the story when later tonight although its 100% his fault already.

Anyone have any clues about the fine? If he were to go to court, how much would they drop? Someone here must have this info or had a friend with a similar experience.

I've never gotten one, but wouldn't it say how much it is on his ticket?

In CA it doesn't say until you goto court. Going on the opposite side of the road is a serious offense. Expect at least a 271 fine. puke

271 sounds about right. I know this violation is worse than passing through a red light. This is probably going to leave a point in his record as well.

if he goes to court, the judge may probably just drop a little but not a whole lot. Thanks, anyone else with more info is welcomed to share their experiences/ more info. thumbsup

It really depends on the judge. Dress nice and be well spoken. They can drop it as much as half. Good luck.

yea, the thing is I thought it was around 500 bucks. So when i told my friend about it, he was scared since he doesnt have that much cash laying around. Someone even told me it was 2 points against your record. Is this true?

Also, i've heard that s.f. have raised the traffic violation fees almost doubled!! need more in this if anyone can!
