Insane Exhaust mod!

I have a stock exhaust and I just diconnected the mufflers at the end so its just running out of the cat. It sounds so insane, sounds like a diesel truck, but pops when I shift gears (like a pistol shot) rofl. It might be too loud so I'm thinking about reconnecting it and of course the noise level is hella illegal. So Does anyone know what kind of gains I get, I was thinking it would be the best since it has so little resistance. express your thoughts about this, I'm interested thumbsup

I think Lucky runs without his muffler on. Is there a place closer to the header that you can disconnect it from without cutting the piping?

I would think that you would lose your low end completely...but definately gain some on high end...

Not worth it in my opinion. confused

I'm pretty sure you can deffinately disconnect it at the headers, but I think thats extreme. The pipes bolt apart so there is NO cutting involved eek. After next week I'm going to connect the pipes back together. It was just an experiment me and my friends to see how it sounds. A Maxima, Beamer, corolla, integra, eclipse, and an altima was done too. Maxima sounds insane due to the engine size, but who cares its not as good as a Celica thumbsup thumbsup thumbsup thumbsup

there is a dyno of a GTS with an Injen CAI and unbolted exhaust on another site - 176 whp and basicly no low end loss. Looks pretty good to me!
