Oil filters are oil filters as long as you change at 3000miles, but if you use synthetic change at 7000. thumbsup
Don't waist your money. I used the dealer standard oil filter and got 265,000 miles out of my 1991 Volkswagen GTI and it still ran when I sold it. Just a heads up. thumbsup

A filter is NOT A filter. Many better ones have better seals, drain back valves, etc.

I use K&N, I'd use mobil 1 but I've never seen one.

Full synthetic oil is your friend.

I buy the Mobil 1 filters.

I buy them at Autozone, and they aren't cheap. Most filters cost around $5, but these are like $10.

And as Diablo said...A filter is not a filter.

If you look on the back at the fine print, you will see a percentage, stating what percent of particles of a certain size were caught when they made (I believe) two passes through the filter. Mobil 1 and a few others are like 97%, while others may be a few percent lower. 97% is the highest rating I have seen.

I'd bet that since most of you didn't know that Mobil 1 makes/sells filters that they are new on the market. Guess I got lucky that they sell them in STL?

I'd just go with Mobil 1 oil and a Mobil 1 filter.

Why would you use anything else besides oem toyota filter? The other ones, ie: mobil, k&n, etc don't give the correct oil pressure that celica engine needs... I read that on a site, but I can't remember the link...

Check out this webpage, it does a very good job of comparing many different oil filters, as you will see there are large differences in filtering capacity, flow, and quality. http://www.oilfilterstudy.com/. I have been using Amsoil filters.

The only time youll ever need that difference in quality is if your an idiot and you let your oil go 25,ooo per oil change. If you put synthetic in your car and change it every 5,000 miles it wont matter what filter you use.
