yes.

your overal tire diameter will only go up 1". a 2" added drop would therefore lower your car an overall of 1" (although the space in your wheel well will decrease by 3")

8.5" wide wheels will fit fine in the back, but their not recommended for the front without wheel Spacers. when your steering wheel is turned full point, an 8.5" wide wheel can rub it's tires against your wheel well. it's not particularly harmfull, but hearing srapes isnt what anyone wants to hear. you can remove your wheel wells if you're determined to get 8.5" wide tires in the front. thumbsup

Thanks Caleb. I think I'ma just go with 18x8 with 225/40 tires. Would I still have problems with it rubbing against the wheel well?

is this concerning those AZA rims on wheelmax thetiredpimp? i still dont fully understand the concept of how wide we can go...speed4theneed, how do you solve that front width issue? wouldnt Spacers in the front with an 8.5 width make it worse on the issue of scraping...wouldnt that just add one more inch further out causing it to scrape?

another question: say someone wants to opt for fender flares, like the ones in production over at the "other site"...what are the exact specifications for tires, ive done every search i still cant find the best answer...for example sr71 has 19x8 with forged 2 inch Spacers...thats 10inches wide all around..how does he do that?...the one in the ecelica store is only 1 inch Spacers, so does that mean i need to find a 9inch width since there are only 1 inch Spacers at the ecelica store? (to make this look flush on fender flares)

If they will fit greatly depends on the offset they have. i'm running 8,5x19 with 235/35 and an 30 offset. that works great.

no, Spacers would not make the scraping problem worse. it actually helps them because it'll push your wheel out a little more giving your wheel a little bit more room when your steering wheel is fully turned thumbsup (most Spacers are like 1/2" or 1" so this will give your wheels/tires 1/2" or 1" of 'extra' space before scraping (obviously you can get longer Spacers if you want)

second question: i'm not a fan of Spacers over 1"..in my opinion long Spacers are just not the best at taking a lot of stress (like during hard cornering for example). you can either find a 2" spacer (i don't recommened it but others have done this and they sell them elsewhere) or you can buy 9" wides and a 1" spacer. it's more expensive this way but the long run result is better because you have 1. a wider wheel/tire which is better in traction and 2. more reliability in my opinion.

(for the front tires i wouldnt get a 9" wide wheel with a 1" spacer--scraping. but the rears will be fine.) thumbsup

well, wider front tires will actually increase traction, which would help your start.

wider back tires, however, are just an appearance mod and will decrease start Performance unless you street race/autox (the improved traction on the rears will help).

but if you were a racing personality, you wouldnt get big and wide wheels. you'd get short, wide wheels.

in any case--wide wheels look great, and on the front they can actually help thumbsup
