Okay, I am having a problem with hesitation during acceleration with my car. My friend is a mechanic and he is telling me to change the fuel filter, I know it's a simple maintencance job but...where is my fuel filter located? I feel like a dork asking this question but I would like to know. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

i think ours are in the gas tank...

and if i think right (i'm 99% sure on this) then its not a simple job at all.

the fuel filter was built into our fuel pump, which sits in our gas tank... not simple at all... i had this exact same problem and after taking it to toyota they said that my computer showed two things 1) o2 sensor then they ran more tests and said it was my MAF... that i should replace that because they had the same symptoms with a few other cars, and replaced those and everything was fine... i just paid for my new MAF today and it should be here soon, i'll let ya know what happens... by the way the part is like $138 from the dealer... but it's easy to install... hope this helps!!

The fuel filter in a Celica will never need to be replaced (250K maybe)

Clean your MAF, throttle plate, air filter (replace or clean)
