Celica Forums General Discussion Exterior MAF replacement?

i been having w/ power problem...when i start the car and go right away..my car is like chooking to death or something...i press on gas pedal it goes then stop..go then stop...so i brought my car to the dealer to see what goin on...they run the computer and nothing come up...they said in the last week they replace 3 MAF and on 3 celica w/ the same problem...my ????? is when do you replace MAF or you just clean them...i just clean my MAF 3 days ago and nothing seem wrong..i also clean throttle also..the MAF cost about 152 and i don't want to waste money if i don't get anything out of it...my car is 63000 mile now...is 2000 gts manuel...my lift bolt seem to be fine..b/c if hit over 6000rpm it will give a lift...nothing wrong w/ that...let me know what going on pllzzzz...

wow..that sux..i have problem with power too but mine is lacking..when i slam on the gas it just delayed for 1-3 sec before it kick it..i think it's becuase of the hot weather nebraska been having..but about ur problem...if the dealer said nothing wrong then go to a different machanic and have them check it out..if you have CAI then put ur stock back and see if it still do that..but if you have stock then don't know what to say..but Good Luck..
