with this kit installed on a celica gts, would you have to put wider rims on it to compinsate for the kit. please explain.

Yes, because once you make your car a wide body you need to cut out your wheel wells and your fenders to extend them out. And if you don't get bigger(wider rims) it will look very funny with your kit extended out and your rims tucked all the way in. Hope this helps you out

it's also the same thing with fender flares, they have to cut your fenders to extend them out, i believe they cut 1-2 inchs off the fender so the new fender flares wont hit your rims and tires, or you can get some major spacers to stick out your tires, but you still need to cut your fenders and wheel wells

For fender flairs - you do NOT need to cut your fender... Shawn (sp?) cut his because he has is celica so darn low (and wanted his wheels to come out and up to the new fender flairs

Its the same celica (not Shawn's (sp?)), you can see that the fenders are NOT cut (just ignore the fact that this photo shows it with MAXIMUM-DROP )
