I need help finding an engine for my GT. I think I spun a bearing on one of my rods. Anyone know where I can find a mildly cheap used engine or maybe just a crank and new rod bearings? Any help is appreciated the engine hasnt locked up yet but its knocking so I need to fix it soon.

ouch, sorry to hear that bro. i don't know of any people here selling an engine..but you can also check matrix boards as well as corolla boards for the gt engine.

you can also junk yard hop..just look for celicas, matrixes, and corollas & with a little luck you can find one cheaper than you would anywhere else.

No the car is not under warranty I bought it used with no warranty, and I did call the dealership they told me for the complete engine would be 7,766.00 eek. So I think I'm going to pass that up.

yeah dealerships will rip you hard. best bet is to try to find an engine in a yard. maybe a great mechanic can fix it though. i dont know though, Im not very "engine compartment" savvy
