I like the sealed boxes also , that is why i got them.. Just do what i did make your own sealed box.

now on the other hand i also like the sound of tubes, it saves a lot of space and you can make them yourselfs too.

It depends on the subs. Call the manufacturer and they'll give you the best sound specs. smile

if ur listenin to techno and hip hop, stay with 10" subs! you want to higher pitched bass and get a sealed box for cleaner bass also!

Make your own box, and make it to the specs it should be.

Some subs require more volume, and weather its ported or not will change this factor even more.

I'm getting a custom Fiberglass subbox and amp mount when I do mine.

Use #1..sealed. Techno sounds like ass in a bandpass box. sealed will give you nice punchy bass.

Bah!!! size has nothing to do with the type of music...anyway I dont like any prefab boxes so I'd suggest making yor own. If you've never done it before, I'd say you start with sealed purely for the purposes of building your skills in woodworking. If you good a building stuff ported isn't difficutlt to build, just to design...
