Some of those plastic splashguards underneath my car have fallen down and i was wondering if i could just cut them out? I know they serve a purpose, but people are thinkin my exhaust is falling off... so i was just hopin to get some other people's opinions
Get some clips from the dealer. I lost a couple in the gutter last time I changed my oil, and the dealer charged me $.05 for each of them. It's all secured now.

Why are they falling off? Is it cuz' they are breaking or something or did you do an a mod and now they just won't go back on? I would just jack it up and try reattaching them with some kind of a clip. IMO
the clips fall out or break very easy, its nothing you did it just happens, and all the time. Just go to the dealer and have them fix it or buy the clips and do it your self. It will be very cheap to fix!
I've got 2 words for ya: ZIP TIES. thats whats holding mine up. When I did my Injen CAI I had a real hard time puttin that splash guard on, so I just put it on good enough to where it would fall off. Then I was on the highway traveling to Louisiana and decided to top out my car sense there was no one else on the highway I was on. I went to 120 then let off. I heard the scraping noise everytime I slowed down. I never new what it was til I got out and lookd. Messed up all my connections for those clips, so I just got some zip ties.
who is going to go looking under cars to see if zip ties are installed???
hidden, 4 places inside my engine bay are those green twist ties that are found mostly in grocery store vegetable sections - they are holding up some wires (If it wasn't for this thread, I probably would have never remembered they were there)
It's not just your imagination... Your day really does go by twice as fast while on EverythingCelica.com
matt...i agree with our fellow CELICAns! the covers underneath are there for a reason. the main reason is to keep dust and dirt from accumulating under the engine bay and around the oil pan so that when you do your oil change (like i do my own), it will not be as dirty.
just go to your local TOYO dealership and buy it there. if you have a LOWES hardware store near by, cruise on by and get them for the same cost.
as far as zip-ties...(sorry Grand-Touring-Dan) you need to have a lot of those if you're gonna be taking out the panels every maintenance you have to do! like ISAAC said ...no one is going to look underneath your car every single time and for those who think zip-ties and twist-wires are "ghetto"...i say..."you're jealous because your brain didn't think of it".

$1.05 for an entire car worth of clips from Toyota that are removable, or $10 on zip ties every time I change my oil/service my underbody...
