i just figured it might be more common in 6-speed cars because they're usually in lift longer.

ok the lift bolt issues on the gts... is it more common in the 6 speed than the auto?

probably more often on the manual cause you hit lift a lot easier in the manual than the auto thumbsup

auto or 6sp, it depends on who hits lift the most...that determines a lot on the wear of the bolt...

actuaaly they are about even really vvti also puts wear on the same bolts wink I've replaced NUMEROUS lift bolts now and it doesnt seem to matter if you have auto or 6spd they all break just as fast. if yo have an 00 - early 02 you reaaly need to not wait and just replace them with the new style bolt. they are REALLY hard to break. thumbsup

if you want the dealer to change ur lift bolt will they do it? i mean it is under warranty right? can you make them do that b4 ur warranty expire or not? i know i should do it myself..i'm planning to, when my 00 gts hits 30k..it's only 27k.

All TSB's are covered under 36k warranty.

like said, if you mileage is loewr then 36,000k or 3yrs i think, then dealer changes for free. or else its all u. it isnt really hard at all actually.

I don't think you would have a problem with the dealer, but who knows. The bolts cost like 40 something cents per bolt, and you need two of them for the install. I would just do it yourself, unless the bolt is broken. Then, leave it to the pros.
