can someone explain lift?

i do not understand this term and everyone uses it...i would like to know what you guys know thumbsup

the gts is equipped with vvtl-i, works sorta like the hondas i-vtec. best way to explain it is like a mini supercharger that engages affter 6000 rpm. thats where the difference comes in the gt and the gts. 40 hp extra on the gts after lift kicks in. to check out how it works
