I'm probably going to do this over the weekend as well. As far as I can tell, you just have to make sure you clean the crap out of them (like any paint project), and I'm gonna use high temp engine paint for mine...otherwise it might bubble...
i would sand them if you have the time do like 320 i would prime them with some self etching primer just because the paint will adhere better then paint sand with like 2000 paint some more and then clear it
i don't think you have to worry about heat casue it doesn't get that hot in there my vr6 ran 230 degrees normal and i never had a proplem with the chamelion paint on it
