after fixing up my 01 celica gts,,i wondering if i'm going to sell this car for a new car????
because i've done so much to it too much time on it, and later on it won't worth jack shit in trade in value.
And not only that, its a celica.. i mean celica is nice, but people rather see little bit fixed up 350z or g35 than a full blowned raced out celica
i just want to heard what you all guys think???
please no bull-shits please...

Celica's have a great trade in value.
If you really want to sell it take the mods off of it and sell them separately.

I'm gonna take your little Civic. Dust it off. Turn it sideways and stick it straight up you candy A*s.

I think that we all know that putting money in a car is good along as you keep it. All the money that you invested in your car is gone. People wont pay the amount that you invested on it, not even if its the fastest Celica or if it is the nicest Celica. I know this guy that is trying to cell his RX7 for $30,000.00. He paid $25,000 for it and has invested about a bit more than $25,000... Its a really Nice RX7, but he knows that people won't pay $50,000 for it. He said that if he doesn't sell it, he'll keep for his son. (His hot ass wife is not even pregnant). Man I would keep it the ride.. I don't want to start from 0 again.. Unless I have a pretty wealthy family and money is not a problem.. tongue

I disagree with this comment. The reason it seems that people are more interested with Z's or G35's is the fact that there are so MANY tunerz working on them... There are so few celica's that are heavily moded that when one does drive up it captures all the attention!

if you part it out and sell it stock you can get KBB value, or maybe if its not too extreme the dealer will take it as is

The GTS has a pretty good resale value, and mods you can sell them seperately and make a half-decent amount of money back and it's not worth trading in your car with the mods because the price they give you for all the hardwork and money you put into the car is as good as getting stabbed in the throat.

But as for modding any car in general (especially allegid econboxes) is subjective, it is kind of a waste of money and for cars like ours, you don't really get too much out of it.. though, it also depends on what you use you car for. As I don't think it's really worth modding a Celica just to be a quarter mile car, it does so much better as a track car (it takes on EVO's in it's stock form and has been known to take out Porsche 911 Turbo's on the track when properly modded & tuned.)

Modding is fun though, and it gives your car a unique flair and your own personal touch.

I got my car when I was 17 and It too was my first car. I can't see me selling it away. My car is not heavily modded or anything but sowly and surely I do a few things here and there and I will agree I do it for my own personal pleasure not for resale value.
Practically every car depreciates the second you drive it off the lot so investing money in a car is not a profitable business to be in unless you race it and win. Or you enter shows and have some kick ass sponsors.
One thing I do know is my celica is a definite keeper!!
