how do you tighten the belt tensior on the 2000 gt
i have a squeaking noise coming from the alternator area and i think i need to tighten it. can anyone tell me how

I don't think there is a way to tighten it. The problem is from the tensioner itself that is defective piece of crap. Get it fixed or replaced, try a gator belt, try belt dressing sprays (I think those are crap), or live with it until it goes away and then comes back. I have the same problem as you and mine is fine now that is until it rains again.

Maybe put some lubricant on the belt.

damn and it started when it rained real bad for 2 days straight do you think getting the AEM ture power pulley with the belt will help alittle

I was just going to ask you if you had this problem in the past? If not it could be your serpentine belt is worn. Check it for cracks or wear. I'm sure if that's the case the AEM power pulley will help because it comes with a replacement belt.

yeah i already check for cracks but couldn't really find any but im going to get the AEM pulley soon so hopefuly that will help

the AEM pulley is a good mod regardless. if it helps this problem out too then you just got a 2-for-one - thumbsup
