Alright so i threw a rod n my GT celi right. i called toyota 2 see how much it would cost for a new engine they said 3700.. i was wonder if it was possible 2 put a GTS engine n there? does anyone know if thats possible like would it fit. and could i use my GT transmission with the GTS Engine.. OR could i just buy the GT engine and ask them to put that lift that GTS has after 6000 RPMs. Does anyone have any clue about it? confused

Yea you can put a GTS motor and tranny in there. I'm curious, how in the hell did you throw a rod in your 1zz?

you could even put a GTS engine and mount it on a 5 spd tranny... but it would be stupid, you wouldnt be able to land lift...

u can fit a 2zz engine in ur bay, cz their the same size. i dont think the 5spd transmission will be a good idea to use it with 2zz engine. it will definetely be hard to land on lift with 5spd cz ur shifts are probably gonna be longer. if you really want to do this, get an engine and tranny from junkyard or something. headers are also different on the 1zz and 2zz. my suggestion is save a little more money and put a 3sgte engine in that baby, shell be way happier.

Someone has done the 2zz into the GT swap, with the 5 speed GT engine. A video was posted on here. Problem was, the tach was way off and you didn't come anywhere NEAR lift on each shift. It's certainly possible though.

Get a new 1-ZZFE, throw in a Turbo, and a 6-speed tranny smile

Seriously now, the 2zz-ge will fit, you'll probably have to swap out for a 6-speed tranny though.

the 40 extra hp in the 2zz are in the higher rpm's and you're not in them that much when you're going to the grocery store or the mall.

How much would the 3sgte setup cost? Maybe you should save and go down that path. By the way, what did you do to throw a rod in your GT?

Why put a GTS motor in when you could punch that bad boy out to .60 over and put some forged pistons in and build the lower end for the same price and be better off

Exactly why I bought my GT instead of the GTS. Most of my fun is had around stoplights and such where 0-70 or so matters most. My fun is had with nice low end torque more than anything.

the 3sGTE conversion is like $10,000!!!...I bought my GT for the low -end...I also only have 15,000 imles on it, and 14,000 of those are with wiseco 11:1 pistons, crower rods, and new valve springs...the new internals with labor cost me like $4,200 I think...if your block if ok then check out monkey wrench racing, and maybe go with new internals...I went higher comp, cause I'm fine with NA and I can stay at higher speed without worrying about it killing my engine (and its stronger up top too). You could also go with 8.8:1 and Turbo, or 9:1 and go with juice...just my 2 cents
