Hmm. don't know how to take this, as good or bad.
Im almost reaching the 100K miles on my 2K gt. Anybody else there, or almost there? What should I look at before anything breaks or goes wrong?

I have like over 97000 miles on my car. It's a 2K GT. My next scheduled oil change will be when at 10O+K. Sometimes I wonder if I should spend money modding it. I'm planning on getting a kit before the summer is over. My next car's gonna be a 350Z or a G35 Coupe and I want to get either one before or by the time I graduate (May 2005).

Anyway, to answer your question smile I don't think you'll have too many problems. The only thing that I had to do with my car so far was change the clutch and flywheel and brakes. And like I said, I'm over 97000 so with that in mind, I think it's pretty good. Toyota makes excellent quality cars. thumbsup

Yup, I changed the clutch about 2 months ago and now its time for a brake change. After that is the 100K+ service and then, hope to have some money left, get the TRD exhaust, cause I had the tip (tube) replaced cause it got banged up.

It should be fine. One reason I went with Toyota is because of it's reliability. Only thing I've had to do is change the battery. I got 39K on my 2K GT & expect to go well over 100K miles. Just take care of it.

Close to 75,000. I had to shut it down after the first year or two. You must really love your Celica or drive to Japan and back on a home made bridge of Karaoke machines and origami animal shapes.

do you guys experience any power loss? because when my GT had 3000 miles and below, it was pretty quick and i freaked out because its only a 1.8L. but now it has 4000 miles on it and i've notice that it got slower and it doesnt really peel out when i quick shift to 2nd gear.

toyota's motors last a long time...
if you kept it in good condition and still do, you have nothing to worry about...

otherwise, trade the car in for something new.

Recently my car has been lagging when I floor it.
It might be because I need major service, but once I get it hope it goes away. When I hit the gas, there is a sucktion of air, then a pause for 1 second (like it wants to stall)and then gas kicks in and revs normal. It might be a loos hose, but I don't know.
