Celica Forums General Discussion Exterior How to route 1/2" cable thru firewall on an 2004?

I've seen previous threads on how to get through the firewall, but the pictures I've seen showing a rubber grommet hole behind the battery simply is not there on my '04.

On top of that, I'm using one of the phat Rockford Fosgate install kits and the power line is almost 1/2" thick! Am I going to need to drill a screamin' big hole through the firewall? I don't even have a damn bit that thick.

Ok, the grommet is there, but I didn't want to cut into that as it wouldn't be big enough anyway.

just drill through and buy a grommet from home depot.

take a half inch drill bit, drill hole, if its for an amp wire, your local audio shop should have professional fit grommets available

Am going to go through just a couple inches above where the steering column goes through, sound ok? Seems like there's a double layer on the firewall in most areas.
