I'm getting a bonus from work in the next two weeks and I was going to lower the celi, but the wife gives me flak about buying mods sometimes, and SHE suggested I buy a bike to save miles on the celi, etc, etc catch is she wants me to back off on buying mods. So the question is, skip the bike--went shopping for one today--and lower the car, or buy a bike and lower the car anyway a little bit down the road?? ( my car really needs lowered with the 17's and 40s. What do you guys think?

Lowering costs like $200 and a bike can cost 10-40 times that.

Couldn't you just do both???

umm, I was thinking $500 to lower, but I know what you mean. Its not really the money, its the hag,err I mean wife! She wants me to lay off the mods for some reason, so I can be stubborn--no bike, or give in for a little while, I guess and have both. I also want a bunch of other stuff yet for the celi grin

I'd go with the bike. That is if you won't get ripped off with the insurance, and if you don't mind buying riding gear, and getting your license for it.

It can be quite a hassle, but in my opinion, it's worth it.

I've saw your wife...i think you can take her if she gives you flak. grin
Anyways, I think you should lower it...you already have the nicest and most customized celica, and one of the nicest imports in town. Lowering it would look sooo nice...only problem being meadvilles crappy roads!

na, I've had bikes before, the last was a GS1100 that we built up. It was very fast. I sold it to my brother when my first kid was born. I like the Naked streetfighters now, so I'm looking at Honda 919 or 599.
btw--thanks Brandon, but you know I've got a lot to do yet!! I'm not worthy!

Haha, thats why you should lower it...lowering = one step off the list...just let the dancing baby seduce you into it... But its your opinion that matters so do whatever you want.

Don't lower unless you are going to get aftermarket shocks too.. otherwise you'll end up causing all that stress on your stock shocks and before you know it, you'll have to buy new shocks.

Maybe just go for the bike, you get a new speedy toy, your wife is happier with the decision and the longlivity of your Celi' is prolonged. Sounds good to me!

But what kind of bike, cruise or sport? Personally, I'd love to get a cruise style or chopper. Even Honda has some nice bikes.

Get both. Bikes are fun though dangerous. Get your bike first, then a few weeks after you get the bike, lower your car. Hopefully your wife won't notice and you'll be da man pimpin two nice rides. grin thumbsup

You will be more likely to get in an accident in a bike than the celi.

Yesterday I was on the highway and there was this bike that was swerving in and out of traffic, some guy with his girl on the back.. I had slightly tried to chase them because it seems like they wanted to play but he was squeezing through some small gaps. I was surprised upon how fast he wasn't going through, probably only doing 80km/h or so.
