its gonna slow you down a bit unless you get really light weight rims you have more rotating mass... plus when you go crazy low profiles your gonna feel every bump

but on the positive side they look great and really help turning lol

because the sidewall (the part of the tire you see when looking at a car from the side) is 'low'.

edit--meaning 'thin' as said below by billy thumbsup

i have 18's on low pro's and i cringe everytime i hit the smallest bump (it always sounds and feels much worse than it is)

for lightweight wheels:

weld racing is tops
centerline is tops

the only problem is their not the most stylish. but weld racing can make 17s that weigh 15lbs and centerline can make 18s that weigh 25lbs eek

consider: the stock weight of the 16" gts alloys is about 22lbs.

If you're into auto-x, then go with 15-16" wheels, if you want great handleling go with 18's. If you want a little bit of both, then go with 17's. IMO 19's are over kill.

with a 25 poud rim, acceleration will be almost the same as stock (slightly slower).

as i said earlier, the stock gts 16" alloy rim is about 22 pounds. acceleration according to rims is ALL about weight. so if you get a bigger rim that weighs the same, acceleration will stay the same (although traction will be better--a plus).

so, as you can see, getting a rim that is only 3 pounds heavier will increase drivetrain weight by 12 pounds (3 pounds X 4 wheels = 12). not a very big difference, so your car will accelerate only slightly slower. thumbsup
