No one asked if you're ok or not...so, ARE YOU ALRIGHT!?
Thanks for asking, but yeah I'm ok...just the car isn't!
Sounds like from all the replies that I'm pretty much stuck with a half broken car after it's fixed or they'll total it, but will probably only get blue book which is around $20k, so that still means I'm out about $7.5k from what I paid for the car. Sucks to be paying for other people's stupidity. But I guess that's life.
Eh, you're only out the amount of depreciation. Technically, the reason they do that is so you can go out and buy the exact same car. Meaning the same year and mileage as the one you total. Of course, most people have this weird thing where they consider their car with 10k miles "new" and a car someone else is selling with 10k miles "used"
BTW, everything here people are saying about totaled or not totaled is total guessing. You can never tell just looking at a car, because body pieces are the cheapest part to fix. When I crashed with my last car, they had to replace every body piece from the door forward, plus the wheels. Still only cost 4k to fix.
