I'm running 215/40ZR17 Nitto NeoGens. I'm trying to figure out what pressure I should use in them. First, I was thinking of doing a proportion compared to stock tire. The stock tire has a Max PSI of 44 and Toyota recommends 29. The Nitto has a Max PSI of 50. To keep the proportion, I would need 33 PSI. But that seems low. Plus, the new tire aspect ratio is 33 percent smaller. So that should come into play. I checked the Nitto site. They don't have anything listed for the 7th gen Celica. But for the 1999 Celica GT Coupe, they recommend 39psi at the the same tire size. And the 99 Celica is about 150 lbs heavier and takes the same wheel sizes as the 7th gen. I tried emailing Nitto, but they've yet to respond. Isaac's post about tire pressure says to use max psi, minus a couple pounds. But for regular driving on VA roads, and we're notorious for potholes, that seems high. After all this, does anyone have any insight? Sorry for the long post to get to the point. Just sharing my thought process.

Look on the sidewall of your tire (it should be printed there) and use the manufacturer's recommended pressure.

Like I was saying, the sidewall says 50PSI max, but with the road conditions around here, I think that is way too hi. Plus, if maximum pressure is the way to go, why doesn't Toyota recommed stock tires to be filled entirely?

since the max psi is 50, I say go with 40. that's what I'm running and I've never had any problem and i've hit some pretty bad pot holes/bumps.
