Needle LED's once again?

are the LED's that light up the NEEDLES different than the ones that are on the entire board?

they look different from pics, or is that like a cover or something over them? I need to know, cause i got LED's, but it looks as if the needle LED's are NOT the same as the rest of the board.

anyone know who has changed them? grin

can't you just remove the orange from the needle with nail polish remover and then paint them the color of your choice (with translucent paint, of course)?

that's the needle...yes i am doing that...but the needle would still light up shitty cause the LED's are amber behind it...i'm doing that for red needles in daytime...but then night i need red coloring for lighting.

I C.

Well if you're painting the needles red, wouldn't they light up brighter if you used WHITE leds (as opposed to red ones)?

To answer you question, I don't believe that they are different from the rest of the LED's on the STOCK display, but you will need to remove and replace only certain ones to change the color of your needles.

Give me a sec, and I'll post a pic of the LED's that you need to swap out.

No, because the paint does let light through, and red on red would look the brightest, especiall at night due to the fact that it would give off actual red light.

the red paint is going on the NEEDLE itself...taking off the orange, then putting red behind it.

Whoops, it turns out that the gauge LED's are the same as the needle LED's, so in order to have red needles, you have to have red tach gauges, and speed gauges.

Yellow triangle are the gauge LED
Yellow circles are LCD LED
Now just unsolder those LED
Solder new LED back on with little marking on the LED aiming downwards

Check the install section for more info also. That's where I got this from.

Sorry to be a post whore, but if you are asking if the LED's used for the needles are the same size as the rest of the LED's, then yes, they are.

I believe that they are all smd size 1206 LED's.

Same one's homie. It'll definitely look sweet once you get them all matched up. You won't regret it. Throw up some pics! I think I got one in my profile(red).
