I find it difficult to actually accelerate shifting at 3k. At least with the GTS that is. The gearing is just so short...yeah...

GTS sportshift gears are taller, on average when cruising, I shift anywhere between 3-4K. When racing, I will rev past 7K on occasion, like on straight-aways, but in the twisties, I seldom rev past 6K.
the automatic shifts about the same, but rarely lets the engine spin past 7K on it's own. like me, it's conservative when it comes to the lift zone.

I tend to shift around 3-4k. Except for 1st gear which i like to rev btwn 4-5.5k. The thing revs so quick and the exhaust sound reall good. I heard the hight you rev and shift at the more gas you waste??

I shift between 4-5. In the GTS 6 speed it's just no good lower than that. Plus add on an injen race division Intake that lowers low end, even worse. Rarely go into lift.
