Why are the compression ratios so damn high on the GTS Celica 11.5 somewhere around there? If anyone can explain please do so?It sucks for putting a turbo on it in the first place, is there a way to lower the compression ratio?

higher compression ratio is great if you wanna go with naturally aspirated horsepower. maximizes the engine's potential giving it lots of power without the use of forced induction but at the cost of using a higher octane gas.

u can get aftermarket pistons and rods to lower the ratio.

I am pretty sure you can find lower compression pistons, but you will lose power until you turbo.

you can still turbo it you just won't get as much boost but it will still do the same as a turboed GT with more boost
