Strange that I just read a post on auto-x racing.
Alright, my first race is May 10th. I'm hoping to get some kind of suspension upgrades before then. But what I need to know is, what kind of upgrades? I have absolutely no idea what I need to know for upgrading suspension. Well, besides front and back strut bars, but that's about it. Help.

u could get the trd sportivo kit... it comes with high performance struts lowering springs upper strut and sway bars and bushing it costs $1,500... if you want to go all out buy the hotchkis total vehical system it's the best suspension system for the celica but it cost about $2,500 it is able to make ur celica pull 1.03 g's when cornering i recomend this but the trd kit is good as well

Ok, what about tires? Is there a tire that's geared more towards cornering than flat out traction?

Yup Hotchkis sway bars and springs will run you about $500.00 or $600.00 not including installation and you'll be flyin.

i don't know that much about tires but if you go for the hotchkis tunning go all out and buy the whole set in skidpad stock celica gts is at .82 g's and with the the hotchkis system it's 1.03 g's thats .21 g incressed im saving my money for that in a mile road cours stock gts ran a 1:01.4 secs and with the kit it ran 56.47 secs theirs some stats for you hope it helps

Get yourself some Kumho ecstas or some Toyo proxes and if I could make a suggestion leave your car stock for the first time and get the feel of it. Then get your upgrades.
