ok this may sound stupid and probably wouldnt work but i know that mounting the harness at the base of the sit is a huge safety hazard and such. would it work to modify the rear strut tower bars to mount them too? ive seen this done but wasnt sure about it

It's dangerous, but not that dangerous.

It's mounted to the seatbolts...and if the seat bolts come undone, you are dead anyways.

Be aware that by doing ANYTHING in terms of modifcations to your safety systems may invalidation your insurance/warranties.

If you get into a crash, and the seat belt fails due to a owner modifacation, your insurance company will not be responible for it's affects.

shoulder harnesses should NEVER be mounted at an angle greater than 45 degrees in relation to the floor. If you ever do roll it, you will suffer from spinal compression. If you ever walk again, you'll be a couple inches shorter.
