Aight so im going down the road and I tap the brakes a little and its a knock knock knock . Im like Whoa. Well A car is slowing down so i HAVE to use them. this times its a knock knock knock knock knock BOOM! Then I hit the brakes hard caus a car is stopping (im going about 60) all of a sudden and the car starts sliding out and did 2 360s. I have NO BRAKES on the right side. I coast into foodlion and Check it out. My brake pad is hanging and my caliper has chunks missing out of it. Turns out a 1/2 inch bolt BROKE and caused this. i now need new caliper and entire new braking system for the right rear side. Needless to say Im pissed and its gonna cost me about 600.

yea everything was stock on the braking system. Warrenty wont cover it becaus I live 1 1/2 away from the nearest toyota dealership and i havent had the 45,000 nile checkup. They also say because I have rims is another factor. Im like that is so much BS. But anyways...

rims do not affect the operation of the caliper...and not having a check up doesn't mean ANYTHING.

If you have the extended warranty, it's covered.

60K powertrain, it's not.

First off let me ask you this. You got 45000 miles on the car right? Have you had the brakes serviced yet? And if so by who? If you serviced them yerself yer screwed but if the dealer or another shop did them they are liable.

This sounds like someone forgot to tighten something up and that bolt wedged into the caliper and destroyed it.
