Well, by lookin at your car, you prob already know where the fuses are, but check the passenger side fuse box, or check under the hood. Some of the fuses run multiple items so even though it says dome light it may also run those lights too. Just an idea. It may be the bulb too, or maybe you bumped it when putting the tube in and it's not in the right place to light it up.

Well then don't worry about it.

Just kidding.

Don't know about the Autos, but do the lights come on during the day?

The problem with my car is that whenever I turn the lights on, the radio backlight goes off. Whenever the lights are off, the backlight works, but once the lights go off, boom.

I believe my problem is that something on the AC control board is broken, and won't send backlight power to the radio when the lights are on.

Did you mess with the AC board at all?

I believe you got urself a broken bulb there. These are really fragile..break easily. I've broken 3 already...My friend & I found a way to put a quality LED(not bulb) into that little socket...the illumination is excellent! (I had my AC, lighter & shifter bulbs painted red but now they are all red LED's. I'll start a thread this weekend on how to remove the AC circuit board, & show you pics of all the bulbs you can change to LED's & where to get them. If you want...send me that little gray socket with the bulb still in it...I have one bulb left...I'll put it in there for you & send it back.

If you have an aftermarket radio check the illumination wire(I think it's orange). Might be connected to the wrong wire. Oh & I don't think the AC board will have anything to do with the backlight of the radio.

I have the same problem as slidr, and my control board is not broken (checked continuity on it)

Is it possible it's the tail relay inside the cabin?

that's sucks !

I'm having the same problem for over a years now...

When my light are on, my radio, my A/C and my shifter goes dark... thumbsdown

They only light up once for a reason that I don't know... I was like eek eek eek light !!!! then I stop the car and restart it and the light were gone ! frown frown frown

yesterday I check every fuses and they where all good.
I don't have any ideas... and yes I try the dimmer switch !!

I hope your find what your problem is !!

I believe (after looking at the wiring diagram) the lights come on when the tail light relay is changed.

When you switch the lights on, the tail lights come on, and so should the interior lights...

I am still looking over diagrams and trying to figure it out, but, my best guess is the TAIL relay.

Also...

When I got me celica, the past owner installed a aftermarket radio in it... and he cut all the wiring when he take his headunit out...

So I find a Celica GTS radio and some wiring... may be it's my wiring... cause we have to redo the wiring... on it...

But again... they light up once... if my problem is my wiring... I don't see why they light up once...

so may be a relay...

do you have the wiring diagram in PDF or something like that so that I can check too ????

it could be that.

When you select the parking lights on the lights switch, a relay clicks inside the car, and inside the engine bay.

It has to be something like that spineyes
