anybody got one? not even neccessarily from ebay. i can't afford a genuine trd wing, and these seem ok. is the "real" trd wing made of fibgerglass or Urethane?

here's an example...

I'm sure its made of Urethane. I dunno, I don't think I'd ever get anything for my engine off of ebay, but a wing might be okay. I say go for it, and let us know how it turns out grin

Read the feedbacks of the seller and find some one who purchased the TRD wing from him and ask about the quality... wave

An authentic TRD Wing is made of Fiberglass...urethane would be too heavy. The rest of the TRD kit is made of Urethane (sides, rear, front). If you want to get a replica, you should check out spoilerdepot.com. I have heard great things about their spoilers. thumbsup

I honestly dont think it would be worth the savings. If for some reason, you got the cheap wing, and had to redrill the holes, it would suck. When I get my celica, I dont care if I had to wait an extra month and pay an extra $500 for the Official TRD wing, i'd do it. Like Nate said, you get what you pay for.

it can be done..and it's not overly hard. look at it this way: it can't be any harder than putting a universal wing on your car. the only problem will be the mounts. it's worth the savings, imo thumbsup

buy the spoilers from spoiler depot, they come prepainted stock color (u choose) and are designed to fit stock holes. a couple people have these and liek them. They cheaper on ebay than from the company website, but its the same thing. thumbsup

I agree. Just save up and buy an authentic TRD spoiler. I just ordered one...it's much more expensive than a replica, but fits prefectly. thumbsup

I ordered it from Toysport.com. The original price is $890 (painted). But since I ordered a lot of stuff, they gave me a discount...I'm paying around $400 for the wing.

I believe that the entire kit is made of polyuretahne. You are right though, the TRD wing is quite heavy, and due to the increase in weight, the stock trunk lifter thingies smile need to be replaced.

As for the hole drilling aspect, the TRD wing requires that additional holes be drilled in the trunk, and it also uses the holes used by the stock spoiler. The bad thing about replicas is that some don't fit properly with the factory spoiler holes.

I have a replica wing from ebay. and it lined up just fine! but i never installed it because i couldnt afford paint. the only thing i didnt like was the covers on the side of the wings post. they had the hole for the screw and all but it just seemed to thin imo. other than that if a pro paints it nobody will be able 2 know the diff!
