I just read an install guide and i dont remember exactly who, but a member said that they used blue nailpolish(two coats of it) to paint his lites that light up the ac controls an everything else down there. Right now i have a blue light cover on it, it works fine but i think it looks a bit dim because the rubbering i used to cover the two small bulbs is like covering the whole damn thing not letting that much light out. Its nice because no green is showing, but it sux because its not that bright, so i was wondering if it would be ok to use blue nail polish instead? and would it stand up to the heat n stuff? if ne body knows this answer i will be really thankful.

you can, it won't hurt it..but the bulbs won't be nearly as bright.
i just suggest using acetate. use double-sided tape to hold the acetate in place for the ac controls.

(also called brake light repair tape). wal-mart, pep boys, autozone, etc. for different colored aceetate, go to an arts & crafts store. online, you can find some here: http://www.misterart.com/store/view.cfm?store=001&group_id=420

i used red finger nail polish and it looks great, could not have asked for more. a very bright, nice red, i just peeled the green covering off, and painted the bulbs themselves.

the ones that light up the ac controls, lighter etc, etc...my clarion lets me set the color, so i just pushed a button a couple of times to make my deck red i would however love to make the clock up top red, but that involves soldering and i am far too lazy to learn how to do that.

OK thats cool, but do you think i can also paint the bulbs for the radio blue with the nail polish as well? or would i have to use a different method for the radio bulbs or w/e is up there? thanks again.
