Finally got around to installing my set of Hyperground wires. On first start I noticed right away that my idle was too high (around 2K) but I figured since I had removed the battery during the wire install that maybe the computers had reset and where trying to adapt to my Intake and exhaust again.
So I took a twenty minute drive on the highway, hit lift a few times and drove home, the idle settled down a bit to around 1.3K but still about 300rpm higher than before I put the wires in.
Dose this sound right behavior sound normal? How long dose it take for the computers to adapt to changes?
Overall Im happy with the mod, not a huge power increase but definitely noticeable particularly in the 3 to 5K range, 7 to 8K feels stronger as well. Just concerned about the high ible.

when i installed my b&m shortshifter my car did the same thing. it idled at 2k rpms, then back down to about 1.3rpms, and now its the normal 700 rpms. so, it may work its way back down. however, you can always injust the throttle cable (visit the installs section)

unhook your battery again for about a minute than hook it back up. start your car and let it idle for about 5 minutes with out touching the idle. this usually gets the ecu to reset nicely

Idle has since returned to normal, must have been the ecu. Though occasionally on cooler mornings it will start out a little high but settles back down after a few minutes of driving. Still very happy with the mod, good ROI.

After having my battery unhooked for an extended period of time during my stereo install, my idle did the same thing.
It would fire up high and then vary a few hundred RPMS in any direction at any time for no reason. Hang @ 1000 for 5 seconds, jump to 1200, stay for 5 seconds, back to 1000, then to 900, etc.
It's been a few days and mine is all normal again now.

the reason that your idle is so erradic is that your ECU is trying to adjust itself..just give it some time and it will be normal

the main reason here for ur car to idle higher is because of the grounding kit. the grounding kit makes ur engine idle smoother, so you should have expected for ur car to idle a little higher than normal. but after a while the ecu learns it and gets used to it and drops it back where its necessary. it should regularly idle around 700-750rpm. any difference you feel from the grounding kit?

i also did the ground kit thingy..noticed how smooth it starts and idle for the first week...not it;s like before i ever put it on..no changes, start slower, idle kind rough, up and down, around 6-800rmps, sometime choke and almost shut off..dunno y, clean the MAF already..

your car should be doing that! When you install a grounding kit you improve you electric flow and you should idle higher. But your ECU should be able to adjust over time. I had the same thing happen to me. But have no problems. I luv my Grounding Kit
