okay so my friend is looking into finally getting rid of his hunk of junk car and get something new (to him), now of course lots of you are thinking "CELICA, CELICA, GET A CELICA, COME ON DO, DO IT!!!" but he doesn't have that much cash to spend. He's been looking at a '96 Civic puke rolleyes poor guy I know, Ive been trying to talk him into a Subaru RS, his budget is no more then lets say 7,000, so what other cars would be a prime candidate do you think?[/color]

'87 to '93 mustang 5.0 lx notchback, good condition it'll run for around $5000, and when he has a little more cash, he can sell it to some other chump with little cash for the same he bought it for, so long as its still in good condition...i still wish i had that car...

mazda miata, honda civics, old toyotas, old american trucks, broncos, and pick ups... you could get some really nice muscle cars just look on ebay, and auto trader for way under 5000 and use the extra for paint, and tuning...

If he wants a civic, and can actually mod it with an engine swap. Then more power to him. thumbsup

Miata Miata Miata!!! grin

If you search long and hard, you might be able to get the 2nd (current) gen miata for 7 grand. Otherwise, get the last year of the 1st gen. You'll never have a car that handles like one... plus there is a fairly strong aftermarket.

he can find a celica for about 10G easily. he can pay 7down, and rest in a year if he really wants a celica.
if he wants Performance, let him get a eclipse or a honda. buy the car for about 5G and spend the rest on Performance mods.
