i need to tap into a "12 volt accessory power source". i think there is one on the cigarette lighter but i need to know which wire that is

what exactly are you trying to hook up? if you don't mind i ask.. Neon?? you should get one of them 12V+ tester pen from your local autopart shop and test it. good luck

I also tapped into my cig lighter for my overlays. I belive it's the green wire. I couldn't be for certain since I haven't looked there in a good while. But I'm almost positive it's the green one and then I just used the ground wire that is running into the back of the actual cig lighter holder the metal part. It's soldered on there so it's definately a ground. Hope this helped.

its easiest to use the cig ligher for most purposes (very easy access, plus you won't be taking power away from something you use often).
