Celica Forums General Discussion Exterior Timing?

Has anyone installed a timing retard on a GTS? Or does anybody know which one wouold work in my car.?? Thanks

it would nto work the celica gt/gts both have vvti/vvtli

vvti is constantly variable timing henxe the name variable valve timing wiht intelligience.

yes guys correct,
but i think he was refering to ignition or spark timing not cam position or valve timing.

and to the person who asked the question,no it cannot work cause the ecu controls spark. the 7th gen does not have a distributor.
you can probably come up with some ways to fool the ecu but you can only get 1 or 2 degrees maybe but it wont be for long,it will go back to normal after you begin to put some miles on the car.
