Hi, I'm a new member here

I'm currently in the process of buying an accidented celica 2001, and both air bags need to be replaced, including the sensors. I'm having a hard time finding these pieces at a low price. I was wondering if it was possible to use the airbag/sensors from the corolla, or if any of you know a good place where I could call/go, i'm located in Quebec, Canada

Thank you

yeah, the stuff's definately not cheap. i think you can use the sensors from the matrix, but the cost will be the same so you might as well just buy the ones for the celica.

or you can just drive w/out airbags (not recommended, but you won't be breaking any laws--at least in the u.s. and i would assume canada is the same) thumbsup

lol, ableit a relatively harmless one.

airbags today aren't what they are used to be. they used to be able to break older peopls noses (not so anymore). now, the worst you get is a few scratches (small price to pay for having your life)

ditto check the junkyards..BUT 2 things to remember

1. most cars in junkyards are totalled cars (obviously) and this means the engine bay has more than likely wrecked (front end) and therefore airbags were already deployed.

2. you'd need to find a really messed up car that was hit from the back. and i mean really messed up in the back (otherwise it wouldnt be totalled and you wouldnt find it at a junkyard)

thats what i though :S

i cant run without air bag, i have to send the car to the inspection so i can plate it. Ill check the cost of the matrix's air bag, maybe theyre cheaper... hopefully

thx

Your best bet, since you bought a wrecked car, is to lobotimize bags out of another wrecked car.

Should set you back about 40-50% of the original price
