well, i know that a gts makes about 165 to the wheels, i would hope that with all those mods we could gain about 30 hp.

cai-4hp
exhaust-7hp
headers-10hp(at least thats what they claim)
light flywheel-claims it will free up about 8hp
maybe UR pullys for another 3 or 4hp.

I'm gonna say that with those mods, you MIGHT get up to 170-172HP. You still have stock exhaust? If so, I think that's about where you'll be.

Yeah... I have a feeling that you are talking to too many ricers about mods. I know a guy who added a generic ebay exhaust to his RSX-S then claimed that he was dyno'ing 200 hp rolleyes

Most you will get out of any Intake/header/exhaust combo on a N/A 4 banger is in the area of 20 HP at the wheels. The only exception that I could think of would be cars with reeeally restrictive parts from the factory, which wouldn't be semi-performance cars like ours.

Holy crap... I just did some research and it looks like the gains on the CAI for the RSX are completely disproportionate to the gains from every other mod. Twice as much HP gain from a CAI as from an exhaust? wtf wtf

Conclusion: Acura put a real POS airbox in that car stock.

check lucky's post in custom mod and Performance forum, entitled DYNO results yesterday (or something to that effect). i think it was illusive (or maybe lucky) who had the power fc, and he was hitting low 170hp, without any exhaust. i doubt youre going to gain 5-7 more over him with your tsrm. ricer math isnt based on reality. accept that.

damn...i guess the 2zz is already being pushed to its limits stock...makes it a pain to get more power.its to bad they cant get the same power with lower compression. it seems that all the professional drag celicas use the old 3sgte engine...too bad toyota isnt supporting its new stuff. thumbsdown

WHP = Wheel Horse Power, HP to the wheel, or.. "Real life HP"

The HP you see in spec sheet from manufacturer are obtained from the crank. So all the parasite effect of the wheels, transmission, flywheel, clutch, pulleys (all things that get movement from the crank) are not calculated.

That's why when you installed a lightweight flywheel or pulley you "free up" some HP instead of "adding" HP, but at the end it give the same impact =)
