Here's the deal. I bought my 2000 gts about a month ago, and can't seem to get the remote keyless entry to operate. i didn't have time to have it fixed the night i bought the car, so i figured i could get the programming procedures from a either this website or someplace similar. After looking or a while, i came across the Toyota TSB for programming the remote. I followed the steps accordingly. However, the vehicle will not respond to the remote. After following the steps 3 or 4 times i was still unable to get it to work. This morning, i went out and disconnected the battery while i changed the Air Filter(about 15-20 min.). I tried to program the remote once again with no success.
Here's is where i could use some help. if anyone on here is a toyota tech or former tech with some good "know-how" for the program procedures, i would love to hear from you. The dealer i bought the car from is about an hour from my home. they are willing to fix the problem free of charge. However, i also work for a car dealer, and my only day off is sunday. Needles to say, they are closed on sunday. That's beside the point. i just want the keyless entry to work, and it would feel pretty good to do it at home.

Are you sure the battery is not dead in the remote?

Yeah, the battery is new. according to manual it call for a cr2016. i tried that first, and then tried a cr2032 because it seemed to fit tighter. either way, they were both new batteries, and neither worked. i feel lost.

Thanks lostangel. i have seen those procedures before, but they may come in handy for Blackcel. i may just have to make time to get down to the dealer. I may be somehting as simple as a faulty remote. thanks for the help, though!

Sorry this didnt resolve your problem. You should take it to the dealer as you said. My friend had a car that he bought, but the door/alarm didnt work. Turned out his remote was busted.
