this article should help you out a lot in understanding the pros & cons of both Fiberglass and Urethane.

in short, Urethane is much more durable but is heavy and can warp in extreme heat.

authentic Fiberglass kits are usually lighter, but are more prone to cracking.

fiberglass is cheaper to paint. Urethane is more expensive to paint, and if not done right the paint usually comes off in 'patches' instead of flakes (fiberglass).

replica Fiberglass kits are usually heavier than Urethane and are still prone to cracking. they also almost always need to be slightly modified for correct fitment. i'm not a fan of replica bodykits, but you will save a lot of $$ so it's your choice. currently, ALL replica body kits for the celica are made in Fiberglass--none in Urethane.

Thanks to all for the opinions. I was already leaning toward Urethane, but wanted opinions. Thanks again.

fiberglass is nice...

but Urethane is a little better imo...the paint won't chip like crazy, it will peel instead. tongue

it will only peel if you hit something big and hard and goin at good speed. i've hit a dead racoon and it didn't even faze it really. no peeling tongue

it's all about how good the priming coat is. if done right, it shouldnt peel at all. it's all about how well the primer sticks to the Urethane (urethane is hard for things to stick to).

kaminari, wings west are the most obvious choices for Urethane. blitz also has a Urethane version.

if you decide to go with kaminari (my preference out of the two) you might want to look into getting the rmm sideskirts. they're Fiberglass, but sideskirts are pretty durable anyway. i think they go much nicer than the original kam sides because the kam sides are so bubbly and NOTHING on the celica is bubbly--it's all about edges and aggressiveness.
