Mine has been doing that too, a knocking sound from the engine, mostly when I first start it up. I have 57K on mine.

I see in my manual I'm supposed to change the spark plugs at 60K. Would anyone suggest getting an entire tune-up?

Engine knocking is never a good thing, I would take it to the dealer before you damage the problem any further. "knocking" sounds could be a few things, like bent rods or valves in which case the car will still run, but with the time the problem becomes more expensive to fix. If you catch it early you might save having to rebuild or replace you engine... Just a thought but not a sure fire diagnosis.

take it to the dealer.
but when you say knocking,do you mean,
pinging, detonation,or a metalic knock inside the motor.is it constant, does it go away as you rev,at what rpm?
its little things like that, that would help determind what kind of "knock" you are dealing with.
good luck any way.

i have no idea wat kinda knocking noise it is but its alwayz on.when im gasing ma car you cant hear it because of da engine but i know dat noise is still there.u can hear it a lot when im stoped in neutral and when im in gear not gasing n slowing down it makes some wicked noise like somethings rattling or someshit.
