Ok guys I'm new here, this is my first post. Anywho, I just purchased a 2000 Celica GT silver. I love it, its my first day. I was cruising around today and I stopped at a light. Next thing you know, the RPM's kinda dropped then went back up then dropped again. It pulsed like 4 times before stopping. Any suggestions on what this may be? Its only got 49,000 miles and is still under warranty. Its also an automatic. One more thing, what is that button right next to the red LED light on the dash, to the left of the steering wheel. Thanks...Peace...

I guess there's a posibility that a fuel injector is partially clogged. Or maybe it's the type of fuel you used? Im not so sure, but if it's under warranty, ask them to take a look at it.

Thanks man, I haven't taken it to my mechanic yet, so I was just wondering. I hope it isn't too serious. I love my Celica and I don't want anything to go wrong with it.

Thanks for all your help...I'm going to give fuel injector cleaner a shot. I seems to have gone away, I'll post back on what the result is. The car didn't drive that much in the past year or so, I'm thinking that is problem.

The problem may exist in the vehicles idle system. There may be a clog. You should take that car to a dealer to have it cleaned. It possibly can effect Performance if not treated.

At what RPM's is the engine fluctuating at? Between 500 and 1000? COULD be an idle/air control valve.

You might want to try a tune up and fuel injector cleaning by Toyota or another reputable place. Try this yourself... Throttle body & IAC. I think Toyota will charge you $80-$100 for this alone. It is simple and will take you only a couple of minutes to a half hour depending on how good you are at this. The injector cleaning will cost about $80 at Toyota. Either way the difference will be noticeable.

It's for locking the power window in the passengers side...

I've never seen it on my Celica - but it's a manual... does the problem only occur on automatics?

Regards

OMG i thought i had the only celi on the road that does that. i bought my gt new and it did that b4 the aem Intake... i took the Intake out because i need service. now i have the stock air box with a k&n filter. it stopped for a while and just a couple days ago the rpm starte to fluctuate again to the point where it feels like it's gonna stall or something. i've only used premium fuel, and thought i might my my map sensor.

When I first turn on my car the RPM's are at 2K, then drop down to 1K when it gets warmed up. Shouldn't fluctuate.
