why not just get aftermarket rims? I don't think the 16's are going to slow you down, they are about the same thing you have.

Larger rims will add to your 1/4 mile time, not decrease it. But your top speed will increase.

I think 16"s or 17"s are good enough. Large enough to give you more top end speed, but small enough so that your 1/4 mile time doesn't change much.

the reason why i don't go for aftermarket rims is that i like the way the GTS 16's are and i can't find ones that look like them...brand new they're expensive as hell...the dealer quoted me at 400..a peice...nto including the tires cry

they are pretty nice. Red Devil has them in chrome which I don't think they offer anymore and they are real nice. I just have alloy.

Yes that is true, but not when you have 20000000 pound wheels on. You want nice light 17's at least, lighter than usual to be quicker.

I understand. If you really want though, we can use paypal. I love paypal. Except, I don't even know if I accept payments via paypal. I know I can send them. I almost got burned with $25 last month. I bought my grill mesh from a company on eBay. They never sent it out though. SO three weeks after I paid, I reported it to paypal. I got my grills 5 days later. smile I'm also getting a $2300 suspension system from Titanmotorsports. I'm DEFINITELY using paypal. You should check it out. I won't take your money if decide to give it a shot. Perhaps we sould 2 shipments or something. (pay 1/2 send 1/2; pay 1/2 send 1/2).

Finally, I do have REAL pictures i can show to you. If interested just e-mail me at phatt_boy@yahoo.com or supra_celica2000@yahoo.com

Lastly, You can also check out my eBay name supra_celica
and see my positive feedback. I have like 7/8 or something like that. That negative was from the Lostrican (a guy who's also on this message board) who sells damaged goods and says they're brand new. I bought a hoodscoop from him and he said it was new. The damn thing had (has) chips in it. Bastard. Trust me, I know about getting screwed/burned. Drop me an email if you're interested and wanna see pics. Peace.

bigger rims won't increase your top speed.. your rubber size ballances the diameter of your tires to be the same (otherwise the shop that put them on is breaking laws in every state). Only way your top speed increases is if your tire shop didn't ballance your tire size with your new rims to keep overall diameter constant.. even then how would you know you had more top speed anyway? Your spedometer would be reading wrong...

Lighter = Faster Acceleration (less weight to spin), Smaller = Faster Acceleration (less centripetal force pushing weight out LOWERING your top speed, like when an ice skater pulls her arms in, she spins faster... get it?)... that's it for rims.. simple high school physics, the bigger/heavier you get the slower you go. 17s do look better IMO, but I went with 15s because I don't want to sacrifice performance.

Stock alloy 16s COULD be lighter than steel 15s, but don't count on it, the stock steel GT rims are only 18lbs, then you add the inertia equation.. not sure, you probably won't notice a difference performance wise. But if you are going for performance... DON'T GO BIGGER, and don't go heavier.
