Is there a Kit for the Center dash TV, or is it all customly done in the photos that I see?

How difficult is it? I have a Gamecube that I wanna hook up in the car. The thing is so small, I can put it anywhere. Plus, it matches the interior.

aight, i know i'm probably not helping too much, but you can buy a replacement kit for the top half of our console. some guy sells them in europe for around $240, but i don't remember where i saw it, you have to have it molded a bit, because it has space cut out for a navigation system they only put in the oversees cars...but to answer your question. you can buy them, i don't know where. or you can just have it custom molded.

Here is a picture of my car w/ the center console i made. i molded the tv into the stock center console. it can be done by a bodyshop, or you can order the JDM center console, but that one costs a lot more, not to mention filling the gap on the bottom will cost even more. if you have a shop mold it for you, it might cost less...good luck.

dang satoshi, those prices are really really cheap!!! the ones in the US aren't sold separately, and the dealer wants about $200 for the upper, middle, and lower console.

the cheapeset JDM console i've seen being sold for is around $180.

Sweet! I'm gonna' go on ebay and find a 5.8 in monitor. Something that caught my eye in the picture was the large gap below the screen opening. What's that for and will it need to be replaced/fitted/sized? How much is shipping that to the East Coast of U.S.? How do I order? And will it fit correctly on the left side driven Celica as used here in the U.S.? My birthday is in a month and that would be a great cheap gift from one of parents or girlfiend. Thanks man,
Rob

the gap on the bottom is for the JDM navigation controls. that portion will need to be filled up w/ fiberglass and bondo.

Hmmmm... How big is that gap? You may be able to mod that into fitting that $300 Super AFC thingy in there. What's that do again? Just reroute fuel or is that even worth $300? Whet else could you put there? Custom fiberglass sounds like an espensive option. I need cheap, but practical.
Thanks.

I want the console but, the gap is too big. what should I fill it with that would look good? Wouldn't fiberglass be expensive?

u can put the s-afc there, but it'll be lying on it's back, you wouldn't be able to look at it...hahaha...

u can fill it w/ fiberglass and bondo yourself. a small can of bondo/hardner is about $6. a can of fiberglass resin is about $8, and a mat of fiberglass that is about the size of your rear windshield is about $10. quite cheap. the process is more difficult and time consuming, but a bodyshop should be able to do it for you for about $50.(that's how much i'd charge)

That's ok, because I kinda regret the head unit I bought. I don't think I can hook the two monitors and game system up to it.
Don't feel bad. Be grateful for what you have. smile
