i'm getting a celica at an auction soon and noticed that the reverse is at the top left corner. is this how all the celicas are? i'm just asking because i heard there were some problems on the 2000 and that they made changes in 2001.

that's means it is a six-speed GTS not a GT. All six-speeds have reverse there.

They changed the way the shifter bends is all they changed. I believe on the 00 it bends to the left and on the 01+ it bends to the left. And I'm pretty sure all the 6spd GTS the reverse is to the left and up.

I got a 2002 GTS, top left for me. I also like how it beeps, so you know your in gear. When it beeps it makes me feel like I am driving a big dump truck or something, which is funny because our cars are so tiny!!
