Ok, i have an 03 gts with the old rev limiter (8300) i just wanted to kno who else has an 03 that can hit lift 1-2 and how you do it. All i have done is engine mounts for helping my shifting, i kno i need a SS but i dont see how much help that will do me. Right now i hit about 6k or a lil below on my 1-2 shift (got slower because of my 17's) i wish i could tighten my throttle cable but i have dbw. Any one have any suggestions. Oh yea whoever can do it on an 03, can you tell me ur technique, i would rather do it without slipping the clutch

SHIFT REALLY FAST.

A shortshifter won't help you land lift in 2nd if you can't do it with the stock shifter. The shortshifter will only require the shifting timing more precise.

Tip: place your hand on your shifter with pressure on it as if you were ready to put it into 2nd. Also, you might want to get a friend to video tape your arm and leg movements so you can review them to see what you need to work on.

if you want to land in lift, shift at EXACTLY the point where the rev limiter kicks in, like 8280 RPM, jam the clutch down FAST, and slam it into second gear, and slip the clutch a tad, then floor the gas and pop the clutch.

its extremely abusive on the car, though.

if you want to be REALLY abusive, just drive in 6th gears and punch it to 2nd

yep, shift really fast and really precise. the last thing you want is to mis-shift and fuck the car up.

02's are the only ones with the early rev limiter of i think 7800.

2000, 2001, 2003, and 2004 come with the 8400 rev limiter

yea i meant the old rev limiters like the 00-01, the 8300 cut off

thanx steven, took ur advice it helps me land closer to 6k-6.1k, i actually landed lift once, but it probably was because i was nervous and slipped the clutch slightly, landed at 6250 tho

once or twice a week is not a lot at all. i hope you goto tracks or something or maybe race so ull enjoy ur lift. stevens idea is the best thing to do. for the first times when you wanna do it, go on an empty road, and concentrate and see when and where ur rev limits. record ur self shifting and see if ur leg is slow or ur hand. but my best advice to you is drive with the old rev limiter for as long as you can, and practice it landing on lift all the time. if you able, then get Power FC ECU, and you will do awesome and lift maybe on 7500rpm when shifting from 1st to 2nd spineyes
