I finally got notice that my rims shipped today from cali!!! I know most celica owners like the racing rims and what not, but I wanted something different from anything else out there, plus they go with the theme of my car. I'll get pics of them on my car when I get them, but for now you can take a peek at them here>>> ***wheels*** [store6.yimg.com] check them out and let me know what you think
yes I got them from racerwheel, and the service has been good. I've delt with them in the past, and they've always been good to me. I also realize that most people are going to hate on the rims when they see the initial pic, but the accent is optional, and I got both the gold and the chrome versions so I could decide when I get them on my car; so hate all you want to...doesn't phase me. I've seen both the all-chrome version and the gold accented versions in person, and both looked good. I'll probably sit with just the all chrome on my celica. I'm not into racing rims, and wanted chrome when I decided to get wheels, plus like I said I had a definite theme in mind when I bought this car, and that's why I got the wheels I did.
I appreciate that Isaac, and thanks for looking at my profile...some of the things I have planned are listed there, so if anyone wants to know what's up then please look there first...I'll have some more pics in there soon...especially when I get the rest of the stuff I ordered on my car.
those rims are really nice, i've heard of them before, they look siiiiickkkk
if i was you i would just swap out the front for something simple like kaminari and then put airbags on it!!
i hate the 03-04 front , i have 03 too, looks like a fish
well anyways good luck with the rims ,keep us updated with pics and info on new mods
by the way-dont let other people let you down, not everyones gonna like your car, as long as you like it, do it!! the way to get noticed is do something that hasnt bein done..your doing very good so far!! deffinetly get props from me
thanks...but no worries about me. its like you said, the only way to get noticed is to have something completely different...and that's exactly what I'm out to do. Besides, if I modified my celica, and it didn't grab people's attention, then I don't think I'd be happy with the work I put into it. But, this is good...the more input the better...good or bad, please keep it coming
okay azzkikr, I have a question. Judging from your profile, it definately seems that you're into go as well as show (pistons, rods, new clutch, etc.), so I have a question. Why'd you go for these rims which are probably really heavy compared to some light volks or something that will improve performance?
I didn't go with the something like the volk racing rims because they didn't really jump at me, and wouldn't go with the theme I'm working on with this car - which isn't to have a streetable race car. Yes, I have swapped out my rods and pistons and what not, but I went with a higher compression ratio when I did it (11:1). I'm not looking to go insane fast (i.e. turbo, juice, etc.), I just wanted something a little more than what it had. I had a custom turbo on my last vehicle (2000 dodge dakota w/ t3/t4 hybrid turbo via sci-tech motorsports in miami) and blew a damn rod about a month after I bought my celica...I'm not into drag racing with this car, but do take track days at road atlanta, and have a set of 17" bbs wheels I use for that. I've only had the car about 4 months, and bought it to build for show...this is just a theme that's gonna be far from ordinary (which seems to be the only way to get attention in a crowd of show-offs), and the wheels will be part of that theme rather than just something the car is sitting on...but thanks to all who have replied...keep it coming
thanks, plus remember...the pic is with gold accents, I'm getting both the gold accented version, and the chrome accented version of the wheel (different center cap), and can decide from there which looks better when I get them on.

no I didn't get 8 rims...the gold spikes, are attached to the center cap over the lugs...I've got a set of centers with the gold spikes, and a set of centers with chrome spikes... 2 sets x 4 centers, and 4 rims, so I can decide which look I like better on the wheel.
I dunno how they are gonna look on the celi, but they are cool. Your doing somthing unique and no one else has that look, so that makes it awesome! Great job on being original!

you succeeded
Some of the ugliest things took the longest time to make And some of the easiest habits are the hardest one's to break!!!
I also have 17" BBS wheels I use for track days at Road Atlanta (circuit style track, not nascar!) for all who are fans of racing rims, but I'm not going to be using them for daily driving...
i dont mind those at all, i like the idea. imo leave out the gold. the lorenzos that i run are very similair to those. not racy at all and kinda heavy, but draw prolly more attention than anything else on my car.
looks like a tribal ninja shuriken that exploded. not my style but i hear ya when you say that racing rims are kinda boring. i want something different than the norm but i also wanted something lightweight & strong: forged. if it's for show then you're headed in the right direction. it's noticeable. when you enter the shows let us know the reaction you get. it could help the show car builders get a feel of what judges are looking for
