First off I drive a 2001 GTS six speed.

Ok heres the story:

I was racing a c240 today on my way out to lunch. I was waiting to hit lift, but it never happend. I went right up to redline without lift. I almost got beaten by the c240 with 3 people in it, which is sad cause it should have been an easy kill. This isnt the first time that i got no lift outta my car. Have any of you had similar problems with lift? Because i am debating on whether or not to take it to the dealer. My car hits lift sometimes, but sometimes it just lags frown .

Make sure your car has warmed up before you try to race someone. The celica wont hit "lift" if it is hasn't warmed up. If your car was already warm...take it to the dealership grab a mechanic and be WTF!!! [Mad]

Yea just like TRDeez Nutz said. you have to let the car warm up for about a good mile or so and then lift should not be a problem. But if it is warmed up and you are still haveing problems hitting lift take it to the dealership and tell them what happens, but dont tell them you are trying to race people, because then they might start questioning you, and that might cause them to wonder if it is your fault or theirs. But if its under warrenty like it should be for being a 2001 you should not have a problem at all getting it fixed. Yea and one more thing HI HO Silver, you should've forked out the extra cash, so you would have lift. But at least you can get a turbo unlike me. I guess I will have to wait for the supercharger...He he he he

(just take it from me some dealers just don't understand)
