which gives you better gain, AEM CAI, or the Shortram. Ok then which one sounds better?

Short ram - Sound/Look ( Useless for power )
AEM CAI - Low RPM Power (Perfect for Auto and Manual)
INJEN CAI - High RPM Power (Useless for Auto, Perfect for Manual) wave

actually, shortram & cai give about the same gains unless you plan on removing exhaust bottlenecks (adding an exhaust, header, etc.) without any aftermarket exhaust components, expect about the same gains (maybe 1 whp difference).

isaac has shortram, tony has cai...tony says you can't tell the difference.

and it really doesnt matter if it's an auto or a manual (when the floor pedal is stomped, autos will shift at redline just like you would with a manual) thumbsup

really thats true? i always thought CAI would give you better gains. so if you have an aftermarket exhaust, the short ram and CAI will give you the same gains?

A CAI will perform better than a short ram. Adding things like an exhaust and header will improve on this. If planning on an exhaust and/or header get a CAI. If not get a CAI (unless looks are real important). Injen states a gain like 12 WHP I believe. That's unreallistic. I did notice a difference. Loss of power low and a little more high. The sound of the Celica engine unbaffled is amazing! I wish I had a settup up camera to illustrate runs I did before and after. CAI all the way! AEM or Injen it's your choice.
