i'm planning on buying either a trd, apexi, or tanabe exhaust. i'm leaning towards tanabe. any suggestions?

and this might sound like a dumb question, but are they legal? with noise regulation and all that other stuff?

TRD has a .2 better gain than the tanabe. Tanabe is more loud though, TRD sounds more stock and looks more stock. loud=tanabe quieter=trd thumbsup

I just got a Tanabe Hyper Medallion installed. I really wanted the racing, but this site ran out. Anyways, it has a very deep sound and I love it. By the way, I got it dirt cheap. go to mvpmotorsports.com and you can get it for $340 shipped. Anywhere you look, they are at least $500.

just be smart, because the louder ur exhaust is the more you get noticed, but the Police also then notices you.

Tanabe sends you a certificate that it's 50 state legal, just like TRD's. So if a cop tries to give you trouble, just show him the certificate.

thanks for the help guys. i like tanabe. smile but another question, what is better? would tanabe hyper medalllion be better than tanabe super racing medallion? or is it the other way around?

i have a celica gt auto. i've read the review on this site and wow this exhaust is loud. but anyway, with autos, i've noticed that when driving normally, it shifts around the 3k to 4k rpms. so i'm guessing when and if i get this exhaust, just as long as i don't go around the 5k mark, i dont think any cops would be an ass and come get me. [crosses fingers.]

well they both pretty much race proven, but the ultra medallion is the newest version of tanabe ehaust, i would say for someone with more racing in mind go for the super medallion, and for loud performance on the strret, go for the ultra medallion, thats my point of view...

i'm not really a racer so i suppose i'm going to go with the ultra medallion. from everywhere i've seen, it retails up to $500+ so the website MITCH suggested is good. $340 shipped. good shit. can't get any better than that.

but question. is the tanabe super ultra medallion for the celica GT? mitch, is yours a GT?

the ultra medalion is $725+ at most places 'cuz it's made out of titanium & weighs about the same as Veilsides. Since you're not into racing, go with the TSRM & that's the one that most places sell for $500+

Tanabe only makes one size & it fit both GT & GTS.

tanabe super hyper medallion is $340 shipped here.

i'd rather pay $340 for super hyper than $500+ for TSRM.

hyper sounds like TRD, so it'll be pretty quiet, a lot quieter than TSRM. So if you don't really car about sound, then go with the hyper smile
