I'm not sure, but i thought it had somthing to do with sensing air and temperature combinations. Donno! idunno

i think that it just alows the stock air box to suck a little bit more air so you might get like an extra couple hp. dunno though, thats just my guess

Mainly just for cold starts. It actually takes away HP most people just take it out.

yeah, just get a cai or a sr & get rid of the stock airbox. it just flips open to let air in.

its stay closed during the lower rpms from 0-3.99 but when you hit 4 itll open upand allow more air to come in, i took mine out, it sounds great (if you dont want to spend 200 dollars on a intake) with combo with my k&n filter but even with out it its still sound good. its a way cheap alternative to buying a new intake
